  • Are Safe Journey CPR BLS, ACLS and PALS courses American Heart Association (AHA) approved?
    a. All courses provided by Safe Journey CPR are approved by the American Heart Association. b. If you are a medical professional or non-medical professional working in a hospital, outpatient clinic or other medical facilities that requires an AHA approved CPR course, they will accept your certification through Safe Journey CPR.
  • Do you offer virtual courses?
    a. Yes, we offer the same blended model approved by the American Heart Association for our BLS, ACLS and PALS courses. b. The blended course consists of 2 parts. i. A self-paced online session (Heart code) ii. A virtual/ remote skills session led and observed by a certified AHA instructor.
  • Do you offer in person courses?
    a. Yes, we offer traditional in person sessions. b. During the in-person course both the cognitive and skills components are led by the AHA certified instructor.
  • Is there a difference in content between the blended course and the in-person course?
    a.No, you will receive the same content in both courses.
  • How long is the blended (virtual) course?
    a. The first half of the blended model is the heart code online session. This portion is self-paced. As a result, the time it will take to complete this session is dependent on the student learner. b. The second half of the blended model is the skills session led by an AHA instructor. This varies depending on the course. i. BLS: 60 mins to 2 hours depending on the student learner's experience. ii. ACLS: 5-6 hours iii. PALS: 4-5 hours iv. Heart saver: Variations of times are dependent on the specific course. Approximately 1-2.5 hours.
  • How long are the traditional in person courses?
    i. BLS: approximately 4.5 hours. Renewals are approximately 3 hours. ii. ACLS: approximately 10 hours. Updates are approximately 6 hours. iii. PALS: approximately 12 hours. Updates approximately 8 hours iv. Heart saver: Variations of times are dependent on the specific course. Approximately 1-2.5 hours.
  • How long does it take to receive a provider card?
    Safe Journey CPR will issue your provider card the same day of a successfully completed course.
  • How long does a provider card last before it expires?
    Your provider card will last 2 years.
  • What is required for student entry into a skills session for HeartCode?
    Upon successful completion of the online portion, students receive a certificate of completion, which they must present for entry into a skills session.
